HEALEY (FR) (c, 2, Morandi {Fr}–Bashasha, by Kingmambo) ran unplaced in a five-furlong claiming heat at Chantilly in his May 13 debut and stepped forward to become the first winner for his Haras du Mont Goubert-based freshman sire (by Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}). Sent straight to the lead after a sharp getaway, the 93-10 chance enjoyed a healthy advantage until coming under pressure when threatened in early straight and he rallied gamely once headed by Magic Sword (Fr) (Goken {Fr}) approaching the final furlong to subdue that rival and outpoint Sagayan (Fr) (Lucayan {Fr}) by an ultimately comfortable 2 1/2 lengths. Half-brother to a yearling filly by Kingfisher (Ire), he is also the first winner produced by a daughter of GI Del Mar Oaks heroine Dessert (Storm Cat), herself a half-sister to GI Hollywood Derby and GI Breeders’ Cup Turf-winning sire Johar (Gone West). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, €7,000. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
