The first runner and winner for freshman sire Golden Pal (by Uncle Mo), SKARA BRAE (Golden Pal–Mince, by War Front) was installed for her debut as the 2-5 favorite here.
The filly exited the gate in good order and proceeded to make every pole a winning one. Running free down the lane, the 2-year-old won by 4 1/2 lengths over Crossfire (Goldencents).
On Wednesday at Keeneland, owners Ten Broeck Farm had the first winner for freshman sire Life Is Good, and they also campaigned Kimari (Munnings) who in took home the 2021 GI Madison Stakes for trainer Wesley Ward.
A $62,000 buy for Dobbs Bloodstock during the 2020 Keeneland November Sale, the winner's unraced dam foaled a filly by Domestic Product Feb. 8. Skara Brae's second dam is SW Cross (Mighty), who produced GII Pocahontas Stakes winner Sign (Pulpit) and GII Golden Rod Stakes champ Vexed (Arch).
Golden Pal's first-crop has 202 foals of racing age.
