Newsells Park Stud resident A'Ali (Ire) (Society Rock {Ire} became Europe's latest first-crop sire to get off the mark when his Karl Burke-trained daughter Ali Shuffle (GB) shed maiden status at the first attempt tackling five furlongs in Monday's Flat Is Back On Racing TV EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes at Redcar.
1st-Redcar, £6,850, Nov, 4-7, 2yo, f, 5fT, :59.12, gd.
ALI SHUFFLE (GB) (f, 2, A'Ali {Ire}–Always Dreaming {GB}, by Oasis Dream {GB}) broke well and raced in a prominent third from the outset of this debut. Looming large at halfway, the 9-4 second choice was shaken up to gain an edge soon after passing the quarter-mile marker and kept on strongly under mild urging inside the final furlong to comfortably defeat Bleep Test (GB) (Time Test {GB}) by two lengths, becoming the first winner for her freshman sire (by Society Rock {Ire}). Ali Shuffle, half-sister to a yearling colt by Lope Y Fernandez (Ire), is the first of two foals produced by a half-sister to G3 Darley Stakes victrix Feliciana De Vega (GB) (Lope De Vega {Ire}). The February-foaled bay's second dam is multiple Group-placed Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes and Listed Glencairn Stakes winner Along Came Casey (Ire) (Oratorio {Ire}). Sales history: 32,000gns Ylg '24 TATOCT. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $4,753.
