A colt by Gun Runner (hip 200) out of MGSW/GISP Four Graces sold for $4,000,000 to Hunter Rankin, marking the Flying Dutchmen's fifth seven-figure purchase of the night.
His track record-setting first dam is herself a half-sister to MGSW/GISP McCracken (Ghostzapper).
This is her second foal after she was purchased by Whisper Hill for $2.3-million as a broodmare at the 2022 Keeneland November Sale.
He was bred in Kentucky by Whisper Hill Farm and consigned Tuesday by Gainesway.
“In our early inspections this year, I thought he was one of the top colts that I'd seen, obviously by one of the top stallions and by a proper young mare,” said Gainesway's Brian Graves. “Quality breeding program at Mandy Pope. We couldn't be more thrilled for her to get a result like that. And I wish the Flying Dutchmen the best of luck. We're really grateful to him and I think he's a super colt. He's one of the best I've seen this year.”
