There will be no rematch between five-time Group 1 winner Duke of Marmalade (Ire) (Danehill) and G1 Epsom Derby hero New Approach (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) after connections decided to scratch “The Duke” from Sunday's rescheduled G1 Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion S. due to the ease in the ground. “He has achieved so much this year on good or quicker ground and we felt it would be unfair on the horse to run him on ground that would not suit him with a view to the rest of the season,” trainer Aidan O'Brien told Racing Post. “Plans for the horse will be decided at a later date.” The conditioner was set to saddle Red Rock Canyon (Ire) (Rock of Gibraltar {Ire}) and King of Rome (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) in the 10-furlong event
