Dream Ahead's Sweety Dream Swoops Late for Miesque Triumph

Sweety Dream (Fr) (Dream Ahead) made all to graduate in her Sept. 3 debut going one mile at Chantilly, but was too keen when attempting another frontrunning role in a valuable sales heat back over that course and distance last time Sept. 30. Adopting hold-up tactics stalking the pace in fourth through halfway in this black-type bow, she was under pressure when slipping to sixth as the field bunched approaching the eighth pole and quickened in impressive fashion to swoop late for a career high. Trainer Pascal Bary was not in attendance, but commented via telephone from Del Mar and said, “There is no doubt this filly has quality. She won very nicely first time out at Chantilly, but was too keen in front and did too much too early in her second run. With the change of tactic she was able to deliver her turn of foot and showed what she is capable of, winning quite safely in the end. She's through for this season and we'll aim to start her off [back here] in the [G3] Prix Imprudence next year.”

Sweety Dream, half-sister to a yearling colt by Siyouni (Fr), is the third scorer and leading performer produced by G3 Prix Cleopatre third Excellent Girl (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}), herself out of a half to GI Garden City Breeders' Cup S. victress Luas Line (Ire) (Danehill) and G2 International Bosphorus Cup hero Lost in the Moment (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}), from a family which includes Gulfstream Park Breeders' Cup H.-winning sire Prince Arch (Arch) and G1 Vincent O'Brien National S.-winning sire Kingsfort (War Chant).
