Breaking sharply at 3-2, the gray dueled with Beautiful Lady (Bellamy Road) through splits of :22.20 and :45.67 and gained some separation turning for home while drifting out a bit. Appearing clear past the sixteenth pole, Colorful Charades began to get leg-weary, but dug in to hold off Tequilita (Union Rags) by a half-length in 1:19.04. Colorful Charades sold for $130,000 at OBS April after breezing one furlong in :9 4/5. Her multiple stakes-winning dam produced a full-sister to the winner in 2015 before dying later that year.
