Dennis' Moment's Dam, Foal Half-Sister Added to FTKNOV

Dennis' Moment | Coady

Transplendid (Elusive Quality), the dam of GSW & 'TDN Rising Star' Dennis' Moment (Tiznow), and the mare's filly foal by Into Mischief have been supplemented to Tuesday's Fasig-Tipton November Sale.

The first foal from his 9-year-old dam to race, Dennis' Moment earned no-brainer 'Rising Star' status when dismantling a field of Ellis Park maidens by 19 1/4 lengths July 27. The $400,000 graduate of last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale then went on to validate 2-5 favoritism with a deceptively easy victory in the GIII Iroquois S. at Churchill Downs Sept. 14, stamping himself as the one to beat in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Sent off the 9-10 chalk in the Juvenile, he lost all chance when stumbling at the break.

Cataloged as hip 221 through Ballysax Bloodstock on behalf of Geoff Nixon's Grantley Acres (Nixon has big plans for Grantley Acres), Transplendid is being offered in foal to More Than Ready, who was represented by GI Breeders' Cup Mile winner Uni (GB), making him the winningest sire in the history of the championship event. He was also the broodmare sire of two of Friday's Breeders' Cup winners.

She will be preceded into the ring by her Mar. 18 foal by Into Mischief (hip 220), sire of GI Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint and likely Eclipse Award winner Covfefe.

“Transplendid and her 2019 Into Mischief filly are strong late additions to the catalogue,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Dennis' Moment has already stamped himself a special horse, and as of this morning, is the co-second favorite in Kentucky Derby future wagering pools–which demonstrates what high regard the public holds him in despite his poor racing luck in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. There is substantial upside with this mare and foal package.”

Bidding for the November Sale begins Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m.
