OLLIE'S CANDY (f, 3, Candy Ride {Arg}–Afternoon Stroll {GSW, $213,630}, by Stroll) dominated by 6 1/2 lengths first up over track and trip Apr. 22, and didn't look like she'd face must resistance from this field. Off a bit slowly from her rail draw, the 1-5 shot charged up the inside to duel for early command through an opening quarter in :22.36. She put away her rival through a :45.40 half, and scampered away from there to romp by 7 3/4 lengths. Sing in the Wind (Sought After) was second. The winner's dam broke her maiden going short on the Presque Isle Tapeta, and was a stakes-winning juvenile on River Downs dirt. She stretched out effectively and took to the turf to post a 50-1 upset in the 2009 GIII Appalachian S. at Keeneland. Afternoon Stroll's first foal, Celestial Sighting (Eskendereya), was a debut-winning juvenile on Saratoga turf in New York-bred company, and was subsequently stakes-placed on both turf and dirt. Afternoon Stroll was carrying Ollie's Candy when she sold for $85,000 at the 2015 Keeneland January Sale. She RNA'd for $57,000 at KEENOV '16 carrying a Hard Spun foal who she later lost. Sales history: $45,000 RNA Ylg '16 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $31,800. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton
