Arqana Deauville Sensation Abraham Lincoln Debuts For Ballydoyle

Wootton Bassett | Coolmore

4.33 Curragh, Mdn, 2yo, 6fT
ABRAHAM LINCOLN (GB) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) has one of those big names from Coolmore, which would make him of interest even if he hadn't cost €2.3 million at the Arqana Deauville August Sale. That price tag made him the top-priced colt of France's flagship auction and he now heads to The Curragh on a weekend during which Ballydoyle likes to roll out their real top prospects.

The dam High Celebrity (Invincible Spirit) was fast and precocious enough to win the Prix d'Arenberg and finish third in the Cheveley Park at two, but has produced the stable's Queen's Vase runner-up Highbury by the greater stamina influence Galileo so it will be interesting to see how far this colt gets in time.

Among the other newcomers is the Ger Lyons-trained Anchor Road (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}), a son of the San Clemente Handicap winner Up In Time (Noverre) and half-brother to the stable's former Listed scorer Beauty Crescent (Acclamation) who went on to prove a big money-spinner in Hong Kong.
