+WAR DECREE (c, 2, War Front">War Front–Royal Decree, by Street Cry {Ire}), sent off the 2-1 favourite for the maiden won by War Command (War Front) three years ago, was provided with ample pace to run at by stablemate Orderofthegarter (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) as he settled in second under Donnacha O'Brien. Sent after that determined front-runner in the straight, the homebred passed him with just under a furlong remaining and asserted to score by 1 1/2 lengths, with the stable's Sir Edwin Landseer (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) completing a one-two-three five lengths behind. “He been working nicely at home and the three of themran well and you would have to be delighted,” Joseph O'Brien commented. “There is a chance he may go to Ascot–War Command won this and dropped back to six, so it can be done.” War Decree is the second foal out of the dam, whose first is the stakes-placed Noble Quality (Elusive Quality). Her dam is the high-class Ticker Tape (GB) (Royal Applause {GB}), winner of the GI American Oaks Invitational and GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup and a half to the dam of the G1 Middle Park S. and G1 Prix Morny-winning European highweight Reckless Abandon (GB) (Exchange Rate). Also from the extended family of the G1 Racing Post Trophy winner Crowded House (GB) (Rainbow Quest), Royal Decree also has a yearling colt by Speightstown and a foal full-sister to the winner. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $11,318. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
