The 2020-2022 trainees | Godolphin Flying Start

The 2020-2022 Godolphin Flying Start trainees began their two-year course at Kildangan Stud in Ireland on Aug. 17, Godolphin Flying Start announced on Thursday. Due to COVID-19, the first two weeks of the course were remote while trainees quarantined for two weeks. Since beginning their course, the trainees have completed ICT and communications training and started their Equine Anatomy and Physiology module at University College Dublin online. Also during the Irish portion of their course, they will take a short course at the Racing Academy and Centre of Education before starting work rotations. Balanced evenly between six men and six women, the 12-student class is as follows:

  • Angus Robertson, Australia
  • David Skelly, Ireland

“We are delighted to be able to welcome 12 new trainees to Kildangan for the start of their two-year education in the Thoroughbred industry,” said Godolphin Flying Start Executive Director Clodagh Kavanagh. “It is fantastic that we have been able stick to our timetable despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and we are incredibly grateful to all of our partners who have helped to make this happen. They are an enthusiastic and talented team of trainees and we are looking forward to the next two years.”
