Raffin Stud in Berkshire will be under new ownership from April next year when Yvonne Jacques takes over from current owner Lady Whent.
Jacques is joining forces with Charlie Oakshott of Oakshott Bloodstock, who will run the 140-acre farm at Chilton Foliat under the new name of Carisbrooke Stud.
“Raffin Stud will be henceforth known as Carisbrooke Stud and will be refurbished with state-of-the-art facilities in order to develop it to become one of the industry's leading boutique studs,” said Oakshott, the former manager of Whitsbury Manor Stud.
Carisbrooke Stud will consign homebreds and clients' horses at the sales for the first time in 2017.
The most accomplished graduates of Raffin Stud under Lady Whent's tenure are her homebred stallions Bold Edge (GB) (Beveled), winner of the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest, and his Group 2-winning son Assertive (GB).
