The sprint division is about to get a lot more interesting.

X Y Jet (Kantharos), sidelined with a knee chip since finishing a valiant second, beaten a neck, in the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen Mar. 26, will return to action in Belmont's GI Vosburgh Invitational S. Oct. 1.

“X Y Jet is doing excellent,” Brian Trump, director of operations at Rockingham Ranch, commented. “He has been training very well with Jorge Navarro since his return from rehabilitation at Taylor Made Farm after a P1 chip was removed by the team at Rood & Riddle in Lexington, Kentucky. Jorge has been providing us with weekly updates on his works, which have been better than could be expected.”

The speedy 4-year-old gray gelding rattled off five straight wins prior to his trip to the United Arab Emirates, including sparkling efforts at Gulfstream Park in the GIII Mr. Prospector S. Dec. 19 and Sunshine Millions Sprint S. Jan. 16. Gary Hartunian's Rockingham Ranch purchased a controlling interest from Gelfenstein Farm in the son of Soldiersingsblues (Lost Solider) prior to his win in the GIII Gulfstream Park Sprint S. Feb. 27.

The $56,000 OBSAUG yearling has registered six breezes at Navarro's Monmouth Park base since mid-August. He has posted three straight bullets, most recently covering six furlongs in 1:13 (1/2) Sept. 17.

“The horse is anxious and eager to race again,” Trump said. “We are very pleased with his progress and eager to see him shine again.”
