Gelfenstein Farm's X Y Jet (Kantharos), currently one of the top-rated sprinters in North America, is a supplemental nomination to the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen and will compete on Dubai World Cup night Mar. 26 if extended an invitation.

“He came out of the Sunshine Millions Sprint in great order, and once we saw that, we focused on Dubai,” said trainer Jorge Navarro. “His speedy style should fit Meyden perfectly, and having won four in a row, he is incredibly on form.”

Unbeaten since returning from an absence to win a Monmouth Park allowance in September, the 4-year-old is coming off back-to-back stakes wins at Gulfstream Park. He aired by 9 1/4 lengths in the GIII Mr. Prospector S. Dec. 19 and won the Sunshine Millions Sprint S. with a 105 Beyer Jan. 16.

“The World Cup is the center of the horse racing world, and it would be a great honor to be invited,” said owner Ivan Gelfenstein. “Competing in Dubai has been a goal of the farm since we opened our doors. To even have a horse considered is a fine compliment.”
