Winning Pointer Tops Goffs UK

Wednesday's opening session of the Goffs UK Spring Horses-in-Training/Point-to-Point sale saw seven lots reach six figures, pushing the aggregate and median well past last year's returns for the same session. There was an 82% clearance rate for 141 sold for a total of £3,981,500, up 52%. The median jumped 53% to £20,000; however, the average dipped 10% to £28,238.

The session's top lot was the winning point-to-pointer Invincible Cave (Ire) (Court Cave {Ire}) (lot 444), sold to Gordon Elliott for £210,000. It was a sizeable gap back to the second-highest price, which was £140,000 paid by Kieran McManus for the placed point-to-pointer Fleminport (Ire) (Fleminsfirth) (lot 428).

The sale's final session begins on Thursday at 10 a.m.
