Well-Related American Pharoah Foal Fetches a Million

Hip 46, the third foal from the initial crop of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile) to go under the hammer Monday afternoon at Fasig-Tipton November, became the sale's second seven-figure seller when hammering to Emmanuel de Seroux's Narvick International for $1 million. Consigned by Reiley McDonald's Eaton Sales and bred by Eaton, the Jan. 15 foal is the latest produce of GSW & GISP Untouched Talent (Storm Cat), the dam of GISW and successful young WinStar stallion Bodemeister (Empire Maker) and to MGISP Fascinating (Smart Strike). Untouched Talent, winner of the GII Sorrento S. in 2006, was purchased by M. V. Magnier for $5 million in foal to Unbridled's Song at this sale in 2012. The mare's foal of 2015, a filly by Galileo (Ire), fetched $1.5 million at KEENOV two years ago.
