Claiborne's War Front was the leading sire of Keeneland September Book 1 yearlings (3 or more sold) with an average of better than $635,000, while his son The Factor entered Friday's first Book 2 session as the second-leading North American-based freshman sire of yearlings by average ($225,943, according to TDN Insta-Tistics). The War Front/The Factor momentum was on display Friday when hip 775, a son of the unraced Aspen Light (Bernardini) was knocked down to Zayat Stables for $600,000. Consigned by Mr. & Mrs. Jody Huckabay's Elm Tree Farm on behalf of Stonestreet Bred and Raised, the Valentine's Day foal is out of a half-sister to Great Hunter (Aptitide), winner of the GI Breeders' Futurity just up the hill from the sales pavilion. Hip 775 also hails from the extended female family of GISW Stellar Wind (Curlin), a leading candidate for the 3-year-old filly Eclipse Award.
