+WAR CHEST (c, 2, War Front&log=">War Front–Wine Princess {MGSW & GISP, $461,561}, by Ghostzapper), sent off at 3-1 in this career bow, was in no hurry early, biding his time in second to last through opening fractions of :22.75 and :46.44. Weaving his way between horses on the backstretch run, the $500,000 KEESEP buy was way out in the center of the track turning for home and charged down the lane to win by a length over favored Congruity (Graydar). Thunder Mesa (Sky Mesa) came flying late to be third at 29-1. The winner's dam Wine Princess, a daughter of Horse of the Year Azeri, captured the 2012 GIII Monmouth Oaks and 2013 GII Falls City H. Dattt Farm purchased her for $3 million with this foal in utero at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton November sale. War Chest is her Wine Princess's first foal and she has since produced a pair of colts by Tapit. She was bred back to Pioneerof the Nile earlier this term. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $45,000.
