Vin Cox, managing director of Magic Millions since 2011, has been appointed managing director of Godolphin Australia. He will take up the role after the Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale in January 2018.

“We welcome Vin to the Godolphin team,” said Godolphin Group Chief Executive Joe Osborne. “He brings with him a wealth of international industry experience and joins us at an exciting time for our Australian operation.”

Cox said, “It is an honour to be offered the position of managing director of Godolphin Australia. This role brings together my passions of Thoroughbred breeding and racing and it is a great opportunity to combine them within a world-class operation like Godolphin. I leave a very strong and dynamic team at Magic Millions and I take this opportunity to acknowledge the support and guidance of Gerry and Katie Harvey during my time with them.”

Meanwhile, Magic Millions has appointed former bloodstock manager Barry Bowditch as its new managing director. Magic Millions owner Gerry Harvey said, “Barry was born into this role, having been working in the Thoroughbred auction business all his working life. As bloodstock manager, Barry has been instrumental in Magic Millions's rise to the leading Thoroughbred auction house in the Southern Hemisphere.”

Bowditch said, “Obviously, I am thrilled to accept the position of managing director at Magic Millions. I would like to thank Gerry and Katie for entrusting me with the role, and look forward to continuing the success that Magic Millions has achieved under Vin's leadership.”
