Harry Rosenblum and Robert LaPenta's Uncontested (Tiz Wonderful), fourth behind McCraken (Ghostzapper) in last year's GII Kentucky Jockey Club S., opened his sophomore campaign with a promising 5 1/4-length victory in the one-mile Smarty Jones S. over a sloppy oval at Oaklawn in January. The dark bay colt faltered as the distances got longer, finishing sixth in the Feb. 20 GIII Southwest S. and eighth in the GII Rebel S., both over 1 1/16 miles. He cuts back to one mile for Saturday's GIII Pat Day Mile S. and enters the race off a sparkling five-furlong bullet move in :58 1/5 at Churchill Apr. 25. Lael Stables' No Dozing (Union Rags), second in last year's GII Remsen S., has been knocking on the door of graded stakes success and came closest this term while overcoming a troubled trip to be a close-up third as the favorite in the Apr. 15 GIII Lexington S. last time out. E Five Racing Thoroughbreds' Local Hero (Hard Spun) is coming off a pair of third-place finishes to GI Kentucky Derby contender Girvin (Tale of Ekati). He was beaten 4 1/4 lengths after setting the pace in the Feb. 25 GII Risen Star S. and was a troubled third in the Apr. 1 GII Louisiana Derby last time out.
