+DREAM TREE (f, 2, Uncle Mo&log=">Uncle Mo–Afleet Maggi, by Afleet Alex) was one of many big figure purchases by bloodstock agent Kerri Radcliffe on behalf of the newly formed Phoenix Thoroughbreds this year, summoning $750,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale after breezing in :10 1/5. Pressing from second through an opening quarter in :21.85, the 4-5 favorite took command as they registered a half-mile in :45.37 and charged clear in the lane. The bay looked like she would be a dominant winner, but Midnight Bisou (Midnight Lute) came flying late to hit the line in unison with Dream Tree. The photo revealed Dream Tree had held on for the narrowest of victories. The winner's dam Afleet Maggi produced a full-sister to Dream Tree named Mo Maggi (Uncle Mo) in 2016 and a colt by Lea earlier this term. She was bred back to Blame. Sales history: 80,000 Wlg '15 KEENOV; $225,000 Ylg '16 FTKJUL. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $30,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
