G1 Gold Cup victor Trip To Paris (Ire) (Champs Elysees {GB}) pleased trainer Ed Dunlop in a work Tuesday and is on course for the G2 Goodwood Cup July 30.
“He worked this morning and I was very happy with the way he went. All went well,” said Dunlop. “We'll aim him towards the Goodwood Cup, with all the usual caveats, but we're more than happy–I've contacted the owners and all being well his next run will be in the Goodwood Cup.”
Dunlop added that his popular galloper Red Cadeaux (GB) (Cadeaux Genereux {GB}), on the other hand, would miss Goodwood in preference of the G3 Geoffrey Freer S. at Newbury, in which he has finished second and fourth the last two years.
“It's very unlikely,” Dunlop said of Red Cadeaux's Goodwood Cup participation. “We'll probably wait for his usual race at Newbury and see how we go.”
