Tonalist to $20,000 in 2018

Tonalist

Four-time Grade I winner Tonalist (Tapit) will stand the 2018 breeding season for $20,000, live foal stand and nurses, Lane's End Farm announced Tuesday.

The GI Belmont S. winner bred over 250 mares in his first two seasons at stud and was represented by his first foals this year. Tonalist's top colt brought $260,000, while his top filly was purchased for $175,000.

“We've been very impressed with his first foals,” said Lane's End's David Ingordo, “They're well grown, forward, quality foals, with bone, and great structure.”

Bill Farish added, “We're more excited about Tonalist than ever. His first foals combined with his race record and pedigree has made us even more confident on his chances to be a top sire.”

Tonalist's 2018 fee was originally announced at $30,000.
