GMB Racing's Tom's Ready (More Than Ready), second last out in the GII Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby at Fair Grounds Mar. 26, breezed five furlongs in 1:01.60 (4/6) and galloped out three-quarters in 1:15.40 at Churchill Downs Thursday morning. It was the colt's second work back in preparation for a start in the May 7 GI Kentucky Derby.

“It was a great work,” said trainer Dallas Stewart. “It was a nice, even, strong maintenance work, and he finished the last quarter without any urging. I'm really happy with the way he worked and the way he handled the track.”

Tom's Ready kicked off his season with a second in the GIII LeComte S. at Fair Grounds Jan. 16, before an off-the-board finish in the GII Veterans Ford Risen Star S. there Feb. 20. He has 44 Kentucky Derby points and sits 12th in the standings.

“We're proud of the way he handled things this winter,” Stewart continued. “He had three good races down in New Orleans and he came out of them good and looks to be healthy knock on wood. We' don't take anything for granted. We liked him as a 2-year-old, but it's a big step to where we're headed.”
