Uncontested drilled six local panels from the gate in 1:12 4/5 10 days earlier, which the Keeneland clockers called a “very useful gate effort, going well on his own,” but he was still dismissed at 10-1 for this first go. Off a bit awkwardly from his rail draw, the hulking dark bay was pushed along by rider Channing Hill to seize command and open up by daylight down the backside. He clicked off splits of :22.05 and :44.93 while traveling strongly, and seemed like a sure thing cutting the corner for home. After a brief lead change struggle, the $20,000 KEESEP yearling leveled off well and was taken in hand late to cruise to a six-length score. Quick-working fellow firster Untrapped (Trappe Shot) was second best. The winner is a half to Solitary Ranger (U S Ranger), GSW, $230,040, who annexed the 2013 GIII Arlington-Washington Futurity and 2014 John Battaglia Memorial S. for Wayne Catalano. His year-younger half-sister Data Diva (Data Link) was a a $20,000 KEENOV weanling, and his dam was most recently bred to Gemologist. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $36,000.
