Thewayyouare Dead

Thewayyouare is the sire of Toast of New York | Racing Post

Thewayyouare (Kingmambo-Maryinsky {Ire}, by Sadler's Wells), the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner who sired the globetrotting Group 2 winner Toast of New York, has died at Haras de Corlay Stud aged 13, the stud announced on its Facebook page.

From a regal family, being a half-brother to champion filly and stakes producer Peeping Fawn (Danehill) and a grandson of the champion producer Blush With Pride (Blushing Groom {Fr}), Thewayyouare won four of five juvenile outings including the Criterium de Saint-Cloud for trainer Andre Fabre. After an abbreviated and unproductive 3-year-old campaign he was transferred to Aidan O'Brien, where he failed to fire in two starts at four. Thewayyouare started his stud career at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Kentucky, where he sired Toast of New York from his first crop, and spent five years at Coolmore in Ireland before moving to Germany and finally France.
