Lost Raven was backed down to 4-5 off a clear-cut debut score for a $50,000 tag in the Belmont mud Oct. 4 and became the seventh stakes winner for her breakaway freshman sire (by Indian Charlie) Saturday afternoon. The Repole homebred stalked the pace from second through splits of :22.76 and :46.55, and bounded effortlessly clear in the lane to score by three lengths. Twirl Girl rallied from the back of the pack complete the exacta. Through Three Chimneys, agent, Repole Stable acquired the winner's dam for $75,000 from the Edward Evans dispersal at the 2011 Keeneland November sale. Lost Raven's second dam Summer Raven (Summer Squall) won the 2004 GIII Tempted S. and is the dam not only of GSW and TDN Rising Star Winslow Homer (Unbridled's Song), but that one's full-brother Misconnect, who carried the Repole silks to an upset victory in this year's GII General George H. over this track.
