Ten Riders for Corinthian Challenge Charity Race

Ten riders are set to line up for the first leg of the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Series on Royal Ascot Trials Day at Naas Sunday. The 10 riders are Sheikh Fahad Al Thani, member of the Royal Family of Qatar, racing journalist Niall Cronin, TV presenter Sally Ann Grassick, Killian McCarthy, Eamonn Egan, Jamie Morris, Sophie Candy, Neil Corkery, Suzy Quirke and Alice Kavanagh, with Chris Byrne and Tracy Piggott joining in at later stages.

To participate in this inaugural charity race series, each rider must raise an entry fee of €10,000 through sponsorship and fundraising with all proceeds going to Irish Injured Jockeys. The next leg is at the Curragh July 17 and the final is at Leopardstown Oct. 23

Ruby Walsh, Chairman of Irish Injured Jockeys said, “Irish Injured Jockeys aspires to raise much needed funding to support jockeys when most in need. It is through events like The Corinthian Challenge that we do this and we are again humbled by the support and reaction by the riders who are giving their time and energy to raise €10,000 each, and to the trainers and owners for supplying horses for each race. Donations may be made through our website www.corinthianchallenge.com or by sponsoring a rider privately with all proceeds in aid of Irish Injured Jockeys.”
