Con te Partiro, the 8-5 favorite as one of two Wesley Ward-trained fillies taking on the boys, showed plenty of maturity for a young horse to open her account auspiciously. Breaking almost as quickly as stablemate Angelo’s Ashes (Exchange Rate) despite bumping with another horse, the dark bay looked like she might get sucked into an early duel with her barnmate, but was content to track from second as another rival tugged his way up the inside to take over. With that headstrong foe checking out of it at the top of the stretch, Con Te Partiro showed an impressive turn of foot to kick away from Angelo’s Ashes by 5 1/2 lengths. The winner, a $130,000 KEESEP yearling, is a half fellow ‘Rising Star’ Donworth (Tiznow), SW & MGSP, $164,345, who was second in the GIII Coolmore Lexington S. here almost exactly a year ago before selling for $550,000 to Reddam Racing out of the Regis Farms dispersal at last year’s Keeneland November sale. Dam Temple Street, a $15,000 claim who finished a close second in the 2009 GI Humana Distaff S., produced a Tiznow colt named Tiznow Bob last year and a Tiznow filly named Tiz Ella recently. She hails from the extended female family of Grade I winners A Phenomenon, Seattle Meteor, Pleasant Stage, etc. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $30,000.
