BLIND AMBITION (c, 3, Tapit&log=">Tapit–Starfish Bay {MSW, $241,831} , by Elusive Quality) made it two dominant wins in a row and took to the turf with alacrity at Gulfstream. Fourth as the favorite after a poor break on debut here Jan. 28, the bay finished third stretching out Mar. 4 and rolled to graduation under his own power Apr. 29. Bet down to even-money in this initial turf spin, the $400,000 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic buy was rated early, but soon pulled his way to the front passing a :24.63 quarter. Widening by a :48.36 half, Blind Ambition kicked away strongly by four lengths after straightening for home and never gave any stretch runners a chance, cruising home 4 1/2 lengths to the good of Coleman Rocky (Harlan's Holiday) in a sharp clocking. The winner's dam, a brilliant turf sprinter for these connections who held the five-furlong course record in Hallandale for several years, was represented by a $100,000 Scat Daddy colt at the recent Barretts May sale and foaled a filly by Street Sense last term. Lifetime Record: 4-2-0-1, $49,520. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
