MOTION EMOTION (f, 3, Take Charge Indy–Golden Motion, by Smart Strike) finished fourth in one start for Michael Puhich at Emerald Downs in September, and was transferred to this barn ahead of a ninth-place run in the Churchill slop Nov. 1. She resurfaced a different horse when running away with a six-furlong maiden heat here Jan. 25, and had been subsequently flattered by the next two finishers Ultimate Mo (Uncle Mo) and Irish Mischief (Into Mischief), who each came back to graduate impressively. Quickly to the front, the bay doled out swift splits of :23.10 and :46.92 and began to get away from her competition on the turn. Favorites Ulele (Candy Ride {Arg}) and Off Topic (Street Sense) tried to cut into the leader’s advantage in upper stretch, but Motion Emotion was already far in front and showed no signs of slowing, running up the score to 6 3/4 lengths over a field that appeared to possess some quality. Off Topic defeated Ulele by 2 1/2 lengths for second. Unraced dam Golden Motion’s now 2-year-old filly Tizemotionalgold (Tiznow) was a $51,000 Fasig-Tipton October yearling. Golden Motion produced a Bodemeister colt in 2018 before dying. She was a half-sister to MGSW Sapphire n’ Silk (Pleasant Tap), who in turn produced graded winner Shaniko (A.P. Indy); GSW Golden Itiz (Tiznow); the dam of GI Breeders’ Cup F/M Turf upsetter Shared Account (Pleasantly Perfect) and her half-sister GSW Colonial Flag (Pleasant Tap); and the dam of GSW Tiz Breathtaking (Tiznow). Sales history: $55,000 Ylg ’17 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 4-2-0-0, $98,345. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
