The even-money favorite was away alertly from his outside post and had a slim lead while three wide down the backstretch through an opening quarter in :23.16. He opened up a clear advantage without being asked on the bend and sailed home an easy 4 1/4-length winner. One Thirty Nine (Creative Cause) was second.
