Suddenbreakingnews (Mineshaft) will be pointed towards the Mar. 19 GII Rebel S. after his dramatic last-to-first victory in Monday’s GIII Southwest S., trainer Donnie Von Hemel confirmed Tuesday morning. The Rebel is also the likely next start for Southwest runner-up Whitmore (Pleasantly Perfect), according to trainer and co-owner Ron Moquett. “I’ve got to do the three-owner shuffle,” Moquett said, referring to co-owners Harry Rosenblum and Robert LaPenta. “I want to run here, and I own a piece.” Also expected to return for the Rebel are Southwest third-place finisher American Dubai (E Dubai) and fourth-place finisher Discreetness (Discreet Cat).
