Speightstown Filly Scores at Churchill

4th-CD, $42,640, Msw, 9-29, 2yo, f, 5 1/2f, 1:04.56, ft.
DAWN THE DESTROYER (f, 2, Speightstown–Dashing Debby, by Medaglia d'Oro), favored at 4-5, was hustled up from her wide draw to shadow paternal half-sister White Tights through the early going, as that foe showed the way through a quarter in :22.17. The dark bay bid for the lead on the far turn, but was repelled, as White Tights sped a half-mile :45.73. That rival began to get weary late however, allowing Dawn the Destroyer to rebid and edge past inside the final furlong to coast home a 2 3/4-length winner. Dawn the Destroyer, a half-sister to Bronze Star (Tapit), SW, $128,430, is out of Dashing Debby, a winner of the J J'sdream S. at Calder for Stonestreet. She missed winning her Ellis Park debut by only a head Aug. 21. Dashing Debby has a yearling filly by Malibu Moon. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $33,400.
