Sparkling $6 Million on Stellar Wind at KEENOV

The much anticipated sale of three-year-old champion filly Stellar Wind (Curlin–Evening Star, by Malibu Moon) went pretty much according to script when the chestnut landed a $6 million final bid from M.V. Magnier at Tuesday's opening session of the Keeneland November sale. Bred by Keswick Stables and Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, the five-year-old mare–who was offered as a racing or broodmare prospect–was consigned by Lane's End, agent. The Virginia bred already has six Grade Is to her credit, including scores in the GI Santa Anita Oaks, GI Beholder Mile and GI Zenyatta S. She has 10 wins from 15 starts and earnings over $2.2 million.
