Slipper Runner Scratched

Sheikh Hamdan's G1 Blue Diamond S. second Enbihaar (Aus) (Magnus {Aus}) has been scratched from Saturday's G1 Golden Slipper after tying up on Thursday. Sheikh Hamdan and Lindsay Park are no worse off, however, with that filly's scratching opening the door for her stablemate, first emergency Qafila (Aus) (Not A Single Doubt {Aus}), to have a start.

“She tied up on Thursday and we took a second blood [Friday] and it's still not right, so we've taken her out,” co-trainer David Hayes told Racing.com. “They don't run well if they are tied up on the Thursday. We're going to adjust things to get her right and probably produce her in the [G3] Percy Sykes [at Randwick on Apr. 7]. It's a shame because that Blue Diamond form was looking good but Qafila also ran a blinder in the Blue Diamond [seventh, beaten 5 1/4 lengths] and I thought her run in the Black Opal [fourth] was terrific. She's got up here and thrived and I'm certain she's going to run better than her odds [$71] suggest.”

Lindsay Park also sends out Coolmore's Long Leaf (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) in the Slipper.
