Conquest Farenheit bounced back for his new connections and relished returning to the grass, capturing the Baffle S. on the downhill turf at Santa Anita. A five-length winner on debut Aug. 26 at Woodbine to earn 'TDN Rising Star' honors, the bay was a good second next out in the GII Summer S. in his final start for Conquest Stables and trainer Mark Casse. Hammering down for $735,000 at Keeneland November's Conquest dispersal, Conquest Farenheit was a dull third at 2-5 on the local main Feb. 2, and was made the 7-5 favorite getting back on the green here. Away sharply, he stalked the pace of second choice Rockin Rudy (Midshipman) through a sharp :21.02 quarter and drew on even terms with that one passing the three-eighths pole. Sweeping by the pacesetter at the furlong grounds, the favorite kicked clear from there under mild urging to score by 1 3/4 lengths in 1:12.83. Rockin Rudy held for second. The winner has a 2-year-old half-sister by Archarcharch and a yearling half-brother by Line of David. His dam was bred to Fast Anna last season.
