SOUTHAMPTON WAY (f, 2, Into Mischief–Roadtohanna, by Not For Love) rebounded from a lackluster debut fifth as the 6-5 in the mud at Pimlico May 25 with a confident one-length graduation at Saratoga Friday. The 9-1 shot, adding blinkers for this second start, attended the pace set by Amazing Belle (Midnight Lute) through fractions of :22.07 and :46.33. She took control at the top of the stretch and held Purrfect Miss (Discreet Cat) at bay to the wire. Southampton Way is a half-sister to stakes winner and graded stakes placed Tell a Great Story (Bluegrass Cat, $139,070), to graded stakes placed Give No Quarter (Tiz Wonderful), and to All I Karabout (Bernstein). Sagamore unveiled impressive 2-year-old Barry Lee (Violence) last week. That colt was tabbed a 'TDN Rising Star' after a debut victory at Laurel July 14. Roadtohanna is the dam of a yearling colt by Super Saver and was most recently bred to Orb. Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $51,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
