Rulership Rules Again In Hokkaido

Young Shadai sire Rulership (Jpn), who sired the highest-priced colt and filly during the second session of the Hokkaido Summer Yearling Sale on Tuesday, was once again to the fore with the session topper during Thursday's penultimate session. Lot 1106, a half-brother to four winners, was picked up by Manabu Yoshitomi for ¥29,160,000 (US$290,264). Yoshitomi was busy at the top of the market on Thursday, buying three of the top five lots, including the most expensive filly, a daughter of Pyro (lot 871) for ¥19,440,000 (US$193,509), and colt by Earnestly (Jpn) (lot 861) for ¥18,360,000 (US$182,759).

The session's second-highest priced lot was a son of Meisho Bowler (Jpn) (lot 1096) bought by Yoshio Matsumoto for ¥21,060,000 (US$209,635), while Big Red Farm signed for a son of Agnes Digital (lot 1114) for ¥19,980,000 (US$198,885).
