Rulership Colt Tops Hokkaido Day Two

Rulership | Kelsey Riley

Rulership (Jpn) (King Kamehameha {Jpn}) has made a favourable impression with his first 2-year-olds in the opening half of the year, and a son of the Shadai resident (lot 325) commanded the highest price of the second session of the Hokkaido Summer Yearling Sale when hammered down to Keiji Nagai for ¥29,160,000 (US$291,417). Consigned by Kosho Bokujo, the May-foaled bay is out of the G1 Yushun Himba third Agnes Waltz (Jpn) (Zenno Rob Roy {Jpn}). Rulership also sired the session's highest-priced filly (lot 376), who was picked up by Katsutoshi Nagaya for ¥13,500,000 (US$134,915).

Second-top billing on the day went to lot 341, a Vermilion (Jpn) colt purchased by M Kenichi Holding for ¥21,600,000 (US$215,865). A colt by South Vigorous (Jpn) (lot 565) made waves at the tail end of the session when fetching ¥16,740,000 (US$167,295) from Seihou Tanaka.
