Reliable Man's Erasmus Puts Rivals To the Sword

Third behind the subsequently listed-placed Royal Youmzain (Fr) (Youmzain {Ire}) at Dusseldorf on debut Aug. 20, Erasmus stepped up to register a 4 3/4-length success over this course and distance Sept. 24 and continued his upward trajectory with a scintillating performance here. Shadowing the market-leader Wild Max throughout the early stages, the dark bay opened up from three out to annihilate his rivals in a rare display of power from a juvenile.
Erasmus's dam Enora was successful in the G1 Preis der Diana (German Oaks) in 2010 and there is every chance that he will add further Classic glory to the immediate family on this evidence. The second group winner for his owner-breeder's first-season sire after the G3 Zukunftsrennen scorer Narella (Ire), he is a grandson of the G2 Premio Lydia Tesio runner-up Enrica who is also the dam of the four-times group-winning and G1 Grosser Preis von Baden and G1 Preis von Europa runner-up Egerton (Ger) (Groom Dancer) and the G3 Oleander-Rennen winner Ephraim (GB) (Rail Link {GB}). Also from the family of the GSW sire Erminius (Ger) and the G1 Premio Roma and G1 Premio Presidente della Repubblica scorer Estejo (Ger) (Johan Cruyff {GB}), Enora also has a yearling colt by Lord of England (Ger).
