R.A. Hill Stable Purchases Interest in Breaking Lucky

Breaking Lucky | Sarah Andrew

R.A. Hill Stable has purchased an interest in GI Pegasus World Cup-bound Breaking Lucky (Lookin at Lucky), Gunpowder Farms announced Tuesday. R.A. Hill Stable joins fellow new owners West Point Thoroughbreds and Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, who bought into the 5-year-old when Dean Reeves made a deal to run Breaking Lucky in his Pegasus slot.
“We're thrilled to bring R.A. Hill Stable on board with us on Breaking Lucky, and welcome them to the partnership” said Tom Keithley of Gunpowder Farms.
R.A. Hill Stable is owned by Randy Hill, a financial services executive, and his wife Marina. Hill and Reeves also teamed up to purchase G2 Shadwell Rockfel S. Spain Burg (Fr) (Sageburg {Ire}) for €1.5 million at the Arqana Arc Sale in October.
Trained by Reade Baker, Breaking Lucky captured Woodbine's GIII Seagram Cup S. in August and checked in a respectable fourth behind fellow Pegasus contender Shaman Ghost (Ghostzapper) in the GI Woodward S. a month later. Off the board in the Lukas Classic S. the chestnut was second to Gun Runner (Candy Ride {Arg}) in Churchill's GI Clark H. last time Nov. 25.
