+CALEDONIA ROAD (f, 2, Quality Road&log=">Quality Road–Come a Callin, by Dixie Union) overcame some greenness and kicked away nicely in the final furlong to graduate on debut at Saratoga. Showing a sharp five-panel breeze in 1:00 flat (2/12) here Aug. 20 out of an otherwise unremarkable worktab, the $140,000 KEESEP buy broke sharply but inwardly at 10-1 and stalked the pace of favored second-timer Mockery (Distorted Humor) through splits of :22.89 and :46.15. Drawing alongside the frontrunner while drifting wide at the top of the stretch, Caledonia Road took a while to straighten out, but ran by the leader once she did just inside the eighth pole, and skipped clear to a 2 3/4-length success. Mockery held for second over late-running Indy Union (Union Rags). The winner's dam is a half to MSW/GSP Citizen Advocate (Proud Citizen), while second dam Twilight Service (Horse Chestnut {SAf}) is a half to Vespers (Known Fact), the MSW dam of GISW Hymn Book (Arch), and Database (Known Fact), the SW dam of GISW and freshman sire Data Link (War Front). Come a Callin is responsible for a yearling filly by Majestic Warrior and she was bred to Blame this season. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $49,800.
