Pride Of Dubai Retired

Pride Of Dubai | Racing And Sports

Pride Of Dubai (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}–Al Anood {Aus}, by Danehill), a dual Group 1 winning 2-year-old last year has been retired from racing and will take up stud duties at Coolmore Australia. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt sustained an injury to a hind fetlock when finishing in rear in the G3 Eskimo Prince S. at Randwick last weekend and the decision was made to focus on the next stage of his career.

Bred and raced early in his career by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum, Pride of Dubai ran on late to be a neck second in the colts' and geldings' division of the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude S. at Caulfield, then came from well back in the field to score at odds of 5-1 in the G1 Blue Diamond S. a fortnight later. Having decided that the G1 Golden Slipper would be too much, too soon, connections instead opted for a run in the G1 Inglis Sires' Produce S. at The Championships and the colt rewarded the patience with a cozy 0.2-length success last April. Pride of Dubai will stand as part of a syndicate including Coolmore, China Horse Club and Emmaroo Bloodstock.

By sire of sires Street Cry (Ire) (Machiavellian), he is out of a winning stakes placed half-sister to Rafha (GB) (Kris {GB}), the dam of leading stallions Invincible Spirit (Ire) (Green Desert) and Kodiac (GB) (Danehill). Pride Of Dubai retires with a race record of 5-2-1-1 and earnings of A$1,336,100.
