Producing a taking strong finish to win on debut over six furlongs at Ascot Sept. 2, Cristal Fizz stepped forward to upstage her proven stablemate Glitter Girl and suggest a bright future lies ahead. Held up as she had been on her racecourse introduction, the bay was notably green but always able to keep tabs on the leaders and stayed on Glitter Girl's case as that more experienced filly tried to get away inside the final furlong. Getting on top in the final yards, she hit the line with something in hand to provide her first-season sire (by Oasis Dream {GB}) with an afternoon black-type double after the earlier exploits of Pleaseletmewin (Ire) and a fourth individual black-type winner in total. The dam, who is a half to the dual G3 Greenlands S. winner and G1 July Cup third Hitchens (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) from the family of the top-class Hong Kong sire Floral Pegasus (Aus) and champions Glint of Gold (GB) and Diamond Shoal (GB), has a yearling filly by Camelot (GB) and a colt foal by Bated Breath (GB).
