Point of Entry's Analyze It Stays Perfect in DeMille Romp

'TDN Rising Star' Analyze It (Point of Entry) followed up a sparkling debut victory at Belmont with a dominant wire-to-wire score on the West Coast in Sunday's GIII Cecil B. DeMille S. The colt's victory closed out a parade of east coast invaders landing in the winner's circle during Del Mar's closing week turf stakes and was the second winner for the Chad Brown barn, following on the heels of Off Limits (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire})'s win in the GI Matriarch S. earlier on the card.

Sent straight to the front, Analyze It took pressure from longshot King Eddie (Square Eddie) through a quarter-mile in :23.40 and appeared to be traveling well within himself down the backstretch. He shrugged off his pace rival on the far turn and spurted clear with a swift turn of foot turning for home. It was simply a matter of how far from there, and Analyze It crossed the wire an easy 4 1/4 lengths clear of Pubilius Syrus (Candy Ride {Arg}).

Let go at retrospectively astonishing odds of 13-1 in his career debut, Analyze It dropped a :22 4/5 closing quarter-mile en route to a decisive 6 1/4-length victory in his one-mile unveiling at Belmont Oct. 28. The bay posted two workouts at Big Sandy in the interim before shipping westward.

While owners William Lawrence and Seth Klarman have enjoyed considerable success campaigning horses in partnership in recent years–including 2017 GI Preakness S. hero Cloud Computing (Maclean's Music)–this year has seen a number of 2-year-olds competing solely under the ownership of each individual. Analyze It is the first graded stakes winner for Lawrence's solo operation, while Klarman found the winner's circle in the GI Frizette S. with 'TDN Rising Star' Separationofpowers (Candy Ride {Arg}).

Pedigree Notes:

A $130,000 Keeneland September yearling turned $190,000 OBS March 2-year-old, Analyze It is the first foal out of his dam Sweet Assay (Consolidator), who is a half-sister to stakes-placed Catchy Tune (Bernstein). Third dam A.P. Assay (A.P. Indy) was a graded stakes winner. Sweet Assay was bred back to Point of Entry this spring.
