Bloodstock agent Donato Lanni saw off a challenger from out back to land the current sale topper at OBS April, a well-made colt by Orientate for $450,000. Lanni was making the purchase for undisclosed clients, but confirmed the horse would be trained by Bob Baffert. The colt, a $17,000 FTKOCT yearling, was consigned by Eddie Woods. He was produced by the 7-year-old mare Mir Cat (Tale of the Cat), a half-sister to SP Runnin Ute (Gone West) and from the family of A Phenomenon, Pleasant Stage, et al.
