One More Run From Seven Heavens

Seven Heavens | Racing Post

'TDN Rising Star' Seven Heavens (GB) (Frankel {GB}) will race once more this year, according to trainer John Gosden. The Khalid Abdullah colourbearer broke his maiden at first asking at Ascot July 8, and earned the Rising Star tag when easily dismissing of his lone rival in a Goodwood conditions race Aug. 30.

“He is tall and has grown a lot,” said Gosden. “He was a little boy when he came in. He has grown all year and won two races, which is brilliant.”

“He was set alight at Goodwood [bumped leaving the stalls],” Gosden added. “He is a lively sort, but he has come out of the race great. His father had one thing in his mind and that was to race. They are real competitors.”

Gosden said Seven Heavens's next start has not been decided.

“I'd like to run him once more this year, but there is no decision at this time,” he said. “I think we will be looking at late September, early October. It will be one more run, then he will be put away.”

He added, “He is still a leggy individual. He is like a 15-year-old kid who has shot up. It is fine to have one more run, but I don't want any more than that. He is well entered and I will see how he is at the time, then we will pick our race. I'm not worried about opposition in as much that it has to be the right time for him.”
