Oliver Suspended For Breath Test

Damien Oliver | Racing and Sports

Australian champion jockey Damien Oliver has been suspended for almost a month after failing a breathalyser test at Warrnambool Saturday, according to Racing and Sports. Oliver returned readings of 0.038 and 0.035. The limit is 0.020. Oliver said he had gone out for a few drinks before getting home at midnight the night before and had skipped his morning routine of going to the sauna.

“I'm very disappointed and embarrassed,” Oliver told stewards. “I've never had any problems with this rule before in 20 to 30 years of riding.”
